Alonso opens door to Verstappen Le Mans partnership
Fernando Alonso has revealed that he would love to comPete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with fellow Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen.
Alonso has twice won the endurance racing event in 2018 and 2019, comPeting for the Toyota squad with teammates Kazuki Nakajima and Sebastien Buemi.
While the Spaniard has been focused on the world of F1 since his return to the sport in 2021 following a two-year hiatus, a Le Mans comeback is not something that he would rule out, particularly if Verstappen were to team up with him.

"In the future, for sure, if there is any opportunity [to race at Le Mans with Verstappen]," Alonso told select media, including TheFOXposts.Com.
"We are very good friends, we are always in contact. I would love to do Le Mans – if I do Le Mans once again – with Max.
"You know that [when] you pass the car [to your teammates] – when you go to rest – [you are passing it to] the best [drivers], so your car is in the best hands.
"That would be an honour."
Verstappen has previously competed in the Virtual Le Mans and spoke of the importance of taking part in the event prior to racing in the 2023 running.
