“Dirk played for 100 years” -Kidd lauds Doncic

Mavericks head coach and former Mavs player Jason Kidd praised Luka Doncic for his accomplishments in such a short period of time in the league. Doncic put up 40 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists, and one steal during their 132-120 win over the Trail Blazers on Saturday. He posted his fifth triple-double of the season and third over the last seven Games. He’s now surpassed the 40-point mark on five separate occasions this season.

Doncic has now surpassed Mavs legend Dirk Nowitzki for the most 35-point Games. Kidd, a former teammate of Nowitzki’s, made a joke about how long Dirk was in the league (in reality, it was 21 seasons - all spent with the Mavs) in order to make a point about how good Doncic is.

“Dirk played for 100 years,” said Kidd. “Luka’s played for six. That’s how good he is.”
